Memory Tapestry - Recording of a 3-day live workshop - 9 Hours Content
This listing is for the recording of a live event that happened in January 2023 on Zoom.
Due to the profound connections that were forged and the beautiful moments shared during this workshop, I have decided to offer the opportunity to purchase a recording of the entire workshop. By buying this workshop, you will receive access to the recordings of all three classes, which were three hours each and broadcasted live on Zoom.
During this three-day online retreat we worked with found photographs and found objects to create art that deeply connects us to our ancestors. Throughout the workshop, I guided exercises and offered prompts to help focus on presence, connecting to the past, and honouring our predecessors.
The first day we focussed on CONNECTION, exploring ways to connect ourselves to the past. We made a loom and wove different materials to create a symbol of connection. We also created a masterboard using strong and powerful elements that connect us to our Land, and the people before us and made unique sigils to stamp our fabric and paper.
On the second day, we focussed on REPAIR and learnt from the experiences of our ancestors. We explored endless ways to alter photos, make amends for the mistakes of our ancestors and honour them by creating a medal to their imperfections.
On the third day, we explored OUR GIFTS and what we have to offer. We gathered tiny scraps of paper/fabric that hold meaning and created Meaning Bundles. We also wrote intention scrolls to be incorporated and assembled in our final piece.
By the end of the three-day workshop, we were able to create a piece of art that was filled with intentions and symbols, deeply connecting us and our practice to our ancestors.
