Lachesis with the Thread of Time
The story of Lachesis, the second of the Three Fates, or Moirai: Clotho, Lachesis and Atropos, as described in Greek Mythology. Lachesis had the task of measuring the thread of life that was spun on the spindle Clotho held. As a result, she was responsible for deciding how much time for life was to be allowed for each person and she was also said to choose a person's destiny after a thread was measured.
She was also usually depicted wearing a white dress.
