The Discobolus

The Discobolus is a series of original collages on found clay pigeons.

Something about the shape and the action of throwing a disc reminded me of the idealistic images of olympian athletes of Ancient Greece. So I incorporated photos of perfectly sculpted bodies, cutout from queer magazines from the late ‘50s, disguised in those days as “fitness” magazines.

The title of this ongoing series is an homage to the proportion, balance and harmony of Myron’s statue.
