Mountain House

Mountain House is a book-box made to store a bundle of b/w and sepia photos.

After scoring a large lot of discarded family photos at an online auction, I noticed a strong link to the mountain, to skiing and hiking.

I began to imagine the moments this family used to spend on the snow, walking and laughing together. So I made them a box shaped like a warm, old mountain house, for them to sit around the fireplace with a glass of wine and a lot of stories.

The house measures 17x19cm and it is 5 cm deep. When fully opened, it measures 36cm.
